1 Clay County and Impact Outdoor Adventures have partnered to develop the Stone Coal Disc Golf Course, located at Cross Mountain Campground in the heart of Clay County, Kentucky. The course officially opened on July 26 and has already welcomed over 100 players from dozens of counties.
Nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky, this course features both an 18-hole championship-style layout (the first of its kind east of I-75 in Eastern Kentucky) and a 9-hole beginner-friendly loop — making it fun and accessible for players of all skill levels.
Stone Coal proudly stands as the first disc golf course in Kentucky to feature RPM Helix 2 Baskets, showcasing innovative design and raising the standard for disc golf in the region.
