1 Clay County Names Michael J. White as Interim Executive Director
Manchester, KY – August 14, 2025 – 1 Clay County (1CC) is proud to announce that Michael J. White has been named Interim Executive Director, effective August 14, 2025.
White brings a deep knowledge of Clay County’s history, a passion for its people, and a belief in its potential. Most recently, he served as President of the Clay County Historical Society, following a distinguished 30-year career in education as a coach, teacher, and principal. He is well known and respected as an actively engaged leader in the community. As a founding board member of 1CC, White has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s vision and mission.
“Mike brings a unique set of skills, community connections, and leadership experience that will help fuel 1CC’s momentum,” said Terry Gray, Chair of the 1CC Board of Directors. “His deep knowledge and passion for Clay County, coupled with his commitment to moving our projects forward, make him the right leader for this moment.”
Under White’s leadership, 1CC will continue advancing important community initiatives, including:
- Downtown revitalization to attract new businesses and visitors
- Tourism development leveraging Clay County’s cultural and natural assets
- Community beautification and infrastructure improvements
- Historical preservation projects that celebrate local heritage
